How does it work?

Download the app and connect it to your car via Bluetooth in order to access the global challenge. Once you start driving, the app will detect it and give you feedback on how you handle your vehicle.

The scoring system in the FIA SDC relies on how safe and eco-friendly your driving is. You will also receive feedback on your level of focus, on how well you anticipate and handle situations in traffic as well as on your eco-driving skills.

Your score will evolve and change over time, depending on your driving performance. A few tricks and hints on how to be a smarter driver can help you increase your average score - and you can become a safer and more eco-friendly motorist - no matter where you are in the world.

About the FIA Smart Driving Challenge (SDC)

The FIA SDC aims to help reduce pollution and increase safety on the roads. While driving, motorists get their driving assessed in real-time by our AI-technology, that evaluates each trip’s level of risk and carbon footprint. Just by making motorists aware of their impact we can create a positive change.

The FIA Smart Driving Challenge is a challenge in smart driving that people all over the world can join.

At the end of each season a grand final is held in which the top 20 smartest drivers participate. The winner is crowned "Smartest Driver".

🏆 FIA SDC Season 2023 Winner! 🎉
Congratulations to Alexandre Stricher (Neodyum) who has been crowned the champion of the FIA SDC Season 2023 Grand Finale. 🥇👏

What an amazing final this was, with outstanding smart driving skills demonstrated by both the winner and runner-up James Haigh (Jamesahaigh). 🚗🌱

The final was the culmination of seven qualification heats, each running for one calendar month from April to October, plus four pop-up challenges and online playoffs - with drivers from 79 nationalities taking part! And achieving an average CO2 saving of 13% in the process - what a way to demonstrate the positive impact that smart driving can have on the planet 🌍🌟

The final was organized in partnership with FIA Member, the Emirates Motorsports Organization (EMSO) @emsouaeofficial , and with the support of Hertz UAE, part of Al-Futtaim Group. Huge thanks! ✨
